This Supernatural Story
Soderbergh pushes his creative boundaries in this clever supernatural story shot entirely from the viewpoint of a ghost. As a family including mother Rebekah and troubled teenage daughter Chloe settles into their recent residence, the camera – AKA the Presence – tracks their movements. The teen shows signs of conscious of the poltergeist, and it seems defensive toward her. Yet what is the reason? It's a fun idea that remains concise, featuring a surprise you might not see coming. October 11th, multiple showings, Sky Cinema Premiere

This Creepy Thriller
The director's contained scarefest holds up well even without a sequel. Located in the late 70s in Denver, several disappearances has made the children anxious. When Finney is kidnapped by the villain and held captive in a basement, he fears a fatal end. Yet the non-functional line in the room repeatedly calls, with spooky callers providing assistance, and the prescient dreams of his sister Gwen might rescue him. An effective horror. This Saturday, 10.50pm, the Film4 channel
The Tammy Faye Biopic
In the battle between faith and wealth, the victory is clear for greed in this director's delightfully tacky biopic about the fallen religious broadcaster plus her lawbreaking partner. Andrew Garfield portrays the corrupt Bakker, who states early on, “God does not want us to be poor,”. The couple commence capitalizing on the American public's Christian beliefs. It's an extravaganza of poor styling, bad makeup and bad faith, yet Chastain succeeds to depict the character in a likable light. Next Tuesday, early morning, the Film4 channel
